Montana Rex

This is the snow fort that Rex spent more than 3 hours building last Saturday with the kids. The kids love to play around in it, but otherwise it has gone unused this week. Until tonight.

This evening while I was making cookies for Rachel's Valentine's party tomorrow, Rex walks past me with a stocking hat and a couple of sleeping bags, and says "Good Night!" Without a backward glance, he headed outside.

I mixed up the cookie dough and put a batch in the oven. While it was cooking I snuck out and took a photo of him in the cave. He looks pretty "cozy."

Let me sum things up: My husband is sleeping outside right now in freezing weather under a dome of snow and ice!

Winter is starting to get to all of us about now...

Don't you just love the spice that husbands bring to our lives? That totally sounds like something that HH would do.
How did the cookies turn out? I want one!

The cookies rocked! I am going to have to blog about them. I substituted a cup of mashed white beans for the cup of butter. And you would never even know! Yum!
